This was another Picture on an art supply box; I guess every now and then I just have to prove to myself that I can do it' I also had just got some really awesome markers and was super excited to try them out. I think it turned out pretty cool, Maybe someday I'll even learn how to play guitar.

Polar Bear

Isn't he handsome? I would never have used those colors together like that had it not been an exercise that Tim gave me. It turned out awesome, which I was fairly doubtful of during the process.

Favorite! =D

I don't know what it is about this picture, but it is my favorite picture I have ever done. Maybe it is the mystery air in it, or maybe it is just because she looks like she could kick butt. Whatever the case this is my absolute favorite picture I have ever done.

Can You Guess Who This Is?

That's right it is our country's first President. President George Washington. This picture was an important turning point in my art; I sometimes limit my abilities with what I 'think' I can do, but those limitations are often more passable then I previously realized. Before this picture I felt that I need at the very least an hour to make a Good picture, a picture that was not only pleasing to the eye but also understandable. But can you believe that it took me only Eleven minutes to do this piece? I sure couldn't. I realized that I don't need to limit myself by what I think, and that was a huge obstacle in my art. Yay for realization and overcoming.

Unfinished though Beautiful

I believe that a work of art doesn't have to be finished to be beautiful. Suggestion can be just as beautiful as a finished master piece. And one of the questions i ask myself is, " is a piece ever truly done?" You get to a point where you are happy with it and can put it away, but is it ever truly finished. That is a question only the artist can answer. No one can answer it for them.

Fine Arts 2011 Nationals - Change of Scenery

This is my Fine Arts 2011 'Nationals' picture. The medium is Acrylic paint and charcoal on mat board. I built up a thick texture using acrylic paint and baby powder, and then I drew with charcoal on top of it. ~ "Change of Scenery" symbolizes what everyone must go through at some point in their life. The woman with her back turned depicts the place in our lives where we are turned away from God. Blinded to all that he has for us we feel lost and alone. We are not yet ready to turn around. Then the woman's focus shifts: she is looking to God but has not completely given herself to Him. She is happier, knowing that she is no longer alone. Finally she lets go of control - looking out into the world with new eyes, reflecting a mission to show others the love from God she now sees.

The granite-like background represents the strength of God's love - surrounding the woman even before her awareness dawns.

Fine Arts 2011 Districs - Coming to Life

This is my Fine Arts 2011 'Districts' picture; the medium is: Graphite, colored pencil and pastels on Matt board. ~ God gave me this image one day while I was worshiping; at the time I didn't know that I would use it for Fine Arts 2011, I just thought it was so cool that God had given me a picture. Later at one of the Fine arts meetings I was contemplating what I would draw when God again brought this image into my head, I was so excited that I accidentally interrupted the meeting with a gasp. Through the process of drawing the image God slowly helped me to understand what it meant; The woman is in a Garden, she is black and white because of the cliff that was put in front of her when Adam and Eve sinned. In her eyes is the cross that Jesus died on for our sins, she is looking upon Jesus' death. And because He died for our sins, the world comes into light, into color. The birds are carrying the color into the world on a strand of music, the lyrics of the song being "Father forgive them." The Sparrow is especially important, God showed it to me while I was listening to a worship song. In the song one of the verses say, " For if His (God's) eyes are on the Sparrow more so his heart on me." If he cares and loves a sparrow so much, then he loves me and you more.
